We’ve crafted your dream wedding invitations, and now it’s time to get them out the door and into the hands of your guests. Before you dive into the world of the USPS, let’s chat about the logistics of mailing. From choosing the right stamps to timing your send-offs, there’s a bit more to it than just tossing them in the mailbox. Let’s go over the essentials to do our very best to get your wedding invitations to your guests’ with style and care!

USPS Standard Postage

You or your stationer should check the weight, thickness and rigidity of your final mailing. If you’re working with Amaryllis Paperie, Haleigh has done this for you! This will determine the final price of postage. In our studio this usually ranges from $1.50 – $4.00 as of August 2024. You can select an assortment of current issue USPS stamps to get to the necessary amount for mailing. However, the options aren’t always the most beautiful and may not go perfectly with your invitation design. In that case, you might want to consider…

Vintage Postage

We love to curate vintage postage assortments to coordinate perfectly with your suite. These consist of discontinued USPS stamps that we source from specialty dealers.  As these stamps are sold for far above face value, please allow up to $8 per envelope. We may also recommend combining vintage postage with current issue stamps to get the overall value up based on your mailing.

Rigid Mailer

There is a drawback to mailing your wedding invitations through the US Postal Service: after they are in the mail, they are out of our hands. Unfortunately, the mail service isn’t guaranteed and we won’t be able to track those precious envelopes! Recently, we have begun to put the final finished envelope in a rigid mailer with a shipping label. These labels range in price depending on the individual guest’s address, but domestically range from about $3.50 – $6. They will arrive to your guests in a matter of a couple days and we will have a tracking number for every one!

Box and Padded Mailer

If you’re open to a non-traditional mailing, we can take it one step further and think out of the envelope and into a boxed invitation, which we would package and ship to your guests in a padded mailer. The shipping label prices in this scenario are similar to those of a rigid mailer.

Working with Amaryllis Paperie will help make mailing your wedding invitations as stress-free as possible!
